Sophia approaches counseling as a collaborative and expressive journey, rooted in existential thought. She provides a compassionate, non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their inner landscapes, navigate significant life changes, and achieve nervous system regulation. By integrating clinical care with meaning-making and creative outlets, she helps individuals develop healthy coping strategies and face the complexities of human existence. With a decade of experience as a professional artist, Sophia offers a holistic perspective that uniquely bridges the gap between creative expression and therapeutic healing.
Her practice is dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and adults as they move through trauma, anxiety, depression, and existential distress. Sophia has a particular specialty in working with those facing acute or complex grief and terminal illness. Recognizing that traditional talk therapy is not the only path to healing, she utilizes the transformative power of art-making, allowing clients to externalize deep-seated emotions and find stability when words are not enough.
Sophia is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Georgia State University under the supervision of Dr. Kan Guvensel. She looks forward to completing her clinical internship at the Samaritan Counseling Center of Atlanta under the supervision of Gretchen Rees, LCSW. Complementing her clinical studies, she is a certified Death Doula, a role that reflects her profound dedication to supporting individuals through intense human suffering. Her clinical approach is deeply influenced by her extensive volunteer experience within grief-focused and palliative care organizations. By weaving together existential inquiry, the healing arts, and trauma-informed practices, Sophia strives to help clients of all ages develop resilient coping strategies and find deep, renewed purpose in their personal journeys.
In her personal time, Sophia finds inspiration in searching for music at local record stores, discovering quiet nature trails, playing guitar, and spending time painting in her art studio.
