As Executive Director, Katie oversees the running of the Samaritan Counseling Center. She also provides pre-marital counseling and Pastoral Coaching. Katie enjoys working with those seeking ways to understand and process life’s circumstances, integrating their faith, doubts, and theology.
Katie attended Vanderbilt University, where she double-majored in German and Communication Studies. Following two years in a corporate job, Katie earned her Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and did additional coursework at the University of Bonn, Germany. Katie is ordained as a Presbyterian Minister in the PC(USA). She completed her Doctorate in Pastoral Care and Counseling at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2022.
Katie has been working with couples through pre-marital counseling for over 20 years. She begins with an inventory (Prepare-Enrich website) and initially meets with the couple 3 times (one-hour sessions). The cost is $35 for the inventory and $300 for the pre-marital counseling package. The couple receives a notarized counseling document for a discount on the marriage license in the state of Georgia.
