Joy is an Associate Professional Counselor who helps people from all walks of life explore the stories that shape their identities, develop greater self-understanding, and live more authentically in relationship with themselves, others, and the world around them. Grounded in a deep respect for the value and uniqueness of each person, Joy sees clients as inherently capable of growth, meaning-making, and transformation, even in the midst of life’s brokenness.
Joy views the therapy room as a sacred space where healing, growth, and transformation can unfold. She works collaboratively and non-judgmentally with clients, offering trauma-informed care through an integrative approach. Her work is primarily informed by psychodynamic and existential perspectives, helping clients understand how past experiences shape present patterns while also exploring deeper questions of meaning, purpose, and identity. She also incorporates experiential approaches, including parts work and emotion-focused techniques, alongside cognitive-behavioral strategies to support emotional awareness, build practical skills, and help clients live in alignment with their values.
Joy’s clinical interests include anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, stress and burnout, relational challenges, and spiritual concerns. She finds deep meaning in supporting clients as they grow in self-compassion, resilience, and wholeness, and as they courageously move toward lives marked by authenticity and purpose.
Before becoming a counselor, Joy spent over a decade working in strategy and operations across for-profit and nonprofit organizations. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from New York University, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Joy is under the clinical supervision of Carol Pitts, PhD, LPC, LMFT, CPCS, and AAMFT Approved Supervisor.
