Joshua brings humor, a sense of adventure, curiosity, and genuine compassion to his counseling work. He is committed to meeting his clients as they are, exploring their strengths, and developing strategies that work with their own individual values and beliefs. Joshua is committed to effectively addressing trauma, and is EMDR trained. Joshua is client-centered and believes that all types of counseling are, at their core, ways of making sense of both ourselves and our world.
In his previous work as an attorney, Joshua guided and advised couples and individuals through difficult life challenges and transitions, including bankruptcy, disability, and complex litigation. He attributes his successes in that work to helping his clients define their version of a “win” on their own terms.
A native Atlantan, Joshua attended University of Georgia for his bachelor’s degree in English and Georgia State University for his Juris Doctor. He recently earned his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Georgia State University. Joshua completed his clinical internship with the Samaritan Counseling Center and is thrilled to stay on as a therapist here. He is under the clinical supervision of Carol Pitts, PhD, LPC, LMFT, CPCS.
Joshua lives in the City of Atlanta with his husband and a sweet rescue dog. When not in session with clients, Joshua may be found working in his garden, lifting weights in his neighborhood gym, or officiating weddings around Atlanta.
