Aboorva Sivasankaran, Masters Level Therapist-in-Training

Aboorva views the counseling relationship as a collaborative partnership grounded in mutual trust, respect, and authenticity. She believes meaningful change happens in a safe and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences and grow into the person they want to become.

In therapy, Aboorva works alongside clients to explore past experiences, family relationships, and attachment patterns to help them create meaningful changes in their lives and strengthen their connections with others.

Aboorva is interested in working with clients of all ages, especially adults, couples, and families. She has completed coursework in relationship counseling and family systems and brings extensive experience working with diverse individuals and communities. She approaches counseling from a family systems perspective, exploring how early family relationships and patterns can shape thoughts, emotions, and interactions later in life.

Aboorva earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Loyola University New Orleans under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Stillwell. She is completing her clinical internship under the supervision of Gretchen Rees, LCSW, Clinical Director at Samaritan Counseling Center of Atlanta.

When Aboorva is not in the office, she enjoys expressing her creativity through dancing, drawing, and discovering new places around the city. Having recently moved to Atlanta, she is excited to experience all the city has to offer.
