With an undergraduate degree from Davidson College and a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University, Sarah joined our team in May 2019. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to supporting children, teens, young adults, and adults in navigating life's complexities. With a foundation as a former schoolteacher and child life specialist, Sarah brings a deep understanding of child and adolescent development, as well as the unique challenges faced by adults.
Using an integrative approach, Sarah incorporates play therapy and expressive arts for younger clients and applies Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy and narrative therapy techniques for adults. Through IFS, clients explore their internal landscapes and understand the parts of themselves that shape their experiences. Narrative therapy helps reframe and find meaning in personal stories.
Sarah believes the therapeutic relationship, built on respect, trust, and empathy, is key to meaningful change. Sarah empowers clients to explore their emotions and experiences with curiosity, ultimately guiding them toward deeper self-understanding and resolution.
