Mahamma Germain, Masters Level Therapist-in-Training

Mahamma views counseling as a collaborative partnership and and her role as a supportive resource for clients to identify their strengths, establish healthy boundaries, and develop strategies to overcome barriers. Deeply rooted in her approach to counseling is her belief that the fundamental nature of humanity is the desire for connection. Mahamma strives to create a safe, affirming, and collaborative space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. As a counselor in training, her goal is to empower individuals to build resilience, cultivate meaningful relationships, and thrive within both their inner and outer worlds.

A born-and-bred Bostonian, Mahamma earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Berklee College of Music and has extensive hands-on experience working with diverse populations across the lifespan. Her background in music therapy deeply informs her counseling approach, emphasizing creativity, connection, and holistic care. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Agnes Scott College under the supervision of Dr. Mary Huffstead. She is excited to be completing her clinical internship at the Samaritan Counseling Center of Atlanta under the supervision of Gretchen Rees, LCSW.

Mahamma is passionate about supporting individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, identity development, self-esteem concerns, and relational difficulties. She values creating a culturally aware and affirming environment where clients feel empowered to show up authentically and work toward meaningful growth.

Outside of her graduate studies and clinical work, Mahamma enjoys listening to, playing, and performing music, reading, kayaking, and watching true crime documentaries.
