Kat Jamison, Masters Level Counseling Intern

Kat has a background in neurobiology, having earned her bachelor’s degree in Cellular Biology, and a master’s degree focused on physiology and pharmacology at the University of Georgia. After working for some time in research, Kat followed her heart to patient care where she has worked several years at an acupuncture clinic. Kat has since returned to school to pursue her true passion for counseling. She is currently a graduate level clinician finishing her final year of Agnes Scott College’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.

Kat is interested in working with individuals navigating questions about identity, including multiculturalism, adoption, exploration of spirituality, and individuals facing transitions across the lifespan. Identity can be challenged by a variety of factors, including traumatic life events, attachment wounds, and greater systemic barriers.

It is Kat’s hope that in your work together you can nurture your inner strength and confidence in your ability to show up as authentically as possible. Kat practices in Gestalt theory, which emphasizes a holistic approach to healing. This means in the therapy space you will collaborate together to explore how to navigate challenges more mindfully and aligned with yourself.
