Asher Burk is a passionate Counselor-in-Training with a robust background in supporting women who have experienced domestic violence and a growing interest in grief counseling and working with older adults. With extensive experience in trauma-informed care, Asher is dedicated to providing empathetic and effective support to individuals navigating complex emotional challenges.
Over the past several years, Asher has been deeply involved in various roles related to domestic violence response, where he has gained hands-on experience in helping survivors rebuild their lives. His work includes individual therapy, and support services aimed at empowering women and addressing the impact of trauma. Asher's approach is grounded in compassion, safety, and respect, ensuring that each client feels heard and valued in their journey towards healing.
In addition to his focus on domestic violence, Asher has developed a keen interest in grief counseling and working with older adults. His dedication to grief counseling stems from a desire to offer support to those coping with loss, helping them navigate their emotional pain and find pathways to recovery. Asher’s interest in geriatric counseling is driven by a commitment to addressing the psychological and emotional needs of older adults as they face life transitions, loss, and the complexities of aging.
Asher is a second year Clinical Mental Health Counseling Masters student at Agnes Scott College. He is working under the clinical supervision of Gretchen Rees, LCSW.
